bath and body works: you always want what you can't have!

lost to ebay today! i was bidding on black raspberry anti-bacterial lotion and i LOST! grr. well, i just started on ebay a few days ago (to find some items) and i lost...oh well. thank God that justine is going to the states for xmas so i can just hand her some US money! *lol* but this whole not being able to just order items from bath and body works is just unfair. i'm sick of the whole victoria secrets thing now. i don't know what the big deal is about getting bath and body works, but the whole not being able to get what you want is in play. they have the best anti-bacterial lotions/hand soap ever!

i think the whole wanting what you can't have applies to a lot of always want what you can't have. there are a lot of things that i want, and not necessarily need, that i can't have -- but just the desire for makes it exciting.

Bergofsky's Principle & Bigglemans Safe

I got the idea of using "Bergofsky's Principle" and "Bigglemans Safe" from my favorite fiction of all time, "Digital Fortress" by Dan Brown. Dan Brown wrote "Angels & Demons" (awesome!), "The Da Vinci Code" (awesome again!) and "Deception Point" (meh.) Out of the four books he's written, Digital Fortress was the best one. There is just something so safe about David and Susan (read the book and you'll know what I mean!) and Dan Brown writes as if you're already in the middle of the book! And for some reason, you are not confused, you just can't help but jump right in!

Bergofsky's Principle: the idea that if a computer tried enough keys, it is mathematically guaranteed to find the "right" one. (Brown 1998)

Bigglemans Safe: a hypothetical crypotgraphy scenerio in which a safe builder wrote blueprints for an unbreakable safe. He wanted to keep the blueprints a secret, so he built the safe and locked the blueprints inside. (Brown 1998)
